Phil at Work

Phil joined Resolution at Work in the Spring of 2022 and brings with him a wealth of experience from a varied career across the legal, nursing and academic sectors.

An accredited civil and commercial mediator, as well as a CMC registered Workplace mediator, Phil works with companies and individuals through pre-action and alternative dispute mediation. Phil is a trainee barrister, and his background includes professional regulation, performance governance, Medico-legal studies and a strong health and psychological grounding.

His experience as a public health committee chair and University trade union representative mean that Phil has a deep and complete knowledge of many areas of impact that benefit a wide range of clients, particularly across the health, academic and commercial fields. Phil has expert knowledge of psychotherapy, CBT and mindfulness-based approaches, therapeutic communication, Clinician decision making, fatigue and stress effects, organisational systems, staff health impact, wellbeing and performance, educational and curriculum development and widening participation. This gives him particularly valuable insight into the pain-points of corporate and education clients as well as those within public health services.

Phil’s interlinking areas of expertise include health and safety, equality, employment law and representation, contract law and contractual interpretation, management, tribunals and workplace conflict. Specialist knowledge of nursing, psychology and employment law contributes to his confident, balanced and calming style of mediation.

Phil at Play

Outside of work, Phil is a keen photographer and enjoys getting out and about in South Wales and the South West to enjoy sailing and horse riding.  Phil is an avid musician, playing both drums and piano. He is also a great cook!
