Things can only get better

August 9th, 2011

Not such a good day but I am a firm believer that there is always a positive from any situation!

Last night we were in our tent during a storm and got very little sleep. The tent nearly blew away with us in it! As a result we are all tired and a little irritable. On top of that we have failed to find any decent accommodation and ended up in horrible hotel in a two-horse town near Arles.

I am sure in retrospect we will laugh about it but not just yet.

So what are the positives???

  • We are looking forward even more to a nicer (could not be any worse) hotel now booked on-line for the next two days.
  • We are going to make sure that we have a decent meal tonight.
  • Everyone is still sane, we are all still together and just about talking to each other.
  •  We got to see a local spectacle; a traditional bull race with Camargue horses and bulls (which are semi wild) running around the town. We could not quite work out what the locals’ who were running after the bulls and pulling their tails, were trying to achieve but it was a very interesting and totally unexpected thing to witness.

PS the following day we found the nice bit of the area and spent the day cycling around looking at the wildlife including flamingo’s would you believe. We then arrived at our lush (to us) hotel and I had one of the best showers of my life. Am now feeling refreshed and human again. So things did certainly get much better!

The report was very professional, it dealt with all the issues raised and was particularly thorough. It clearly took the time to fully understand all of the issues and background. It was complex but the report really helped to break it down and I’m hoping we can progress in a positive manner following the recommendations.
