Alison established Resolution at Work in 2011 providing workplace and employment mediation services, neutral assessments, workplace investigations, conflict resolution training and conflict coaching.
Alison has over 18 years’ experience as a specialist employment lawyer, 11 at senior management level. Prior to that, Alison worked for 8 years as an HR practitioner in the private and public sector.

Since setting up Resolution at Work Limited Alison has conducted in excess of 200 workplace mediations in a variety of sectors, including both individual and team mediations and facilitations. Alison developed an innovative and award winning (Neutral Assessment) approach to resolving team conflicts and this has now been successfully applied in a wide variety of contexts. Alison is an accredited conflict coach and executive coach, She has designed and facilitated team development events covering communication / people styles / vision / mission statements and high performing team working.
Alison regularly provides in-house and external training on mediation skills, workplace investigations, conflict management, difficult conversations and performance feedback. She has conducted and advised on a wide range of workplace investigations including serious disciplinary matters, grievance, bullying and harassment, whistleblowing and discrimination cases.
Alison is a fellow of the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development). She is an Accredited Workplace and Employment Mediator and holds an ILM Level 7 certificate in Executive Coaching and Mentoring and was shortlisted as Workplace Mediator of the Year 2021.
In 2010 Alison was a finalist in the Business Leader Inspire Wales Award. Alison is a contributor for articles in the national press and is also the author of “The Manager’s Guide to Mediating Conflict”.
Alison is a keen photographer and loves to spend time with her family and very cute dog, Radley. Radley often accompanies Alison on long walks with her camera and is very patient (unlike others). As an ex-county swimmer Alison is a regular swimmer, enjoys walking and Pilates. Alison and her husband Steve are on a mission to walk the whole of the Wales Coastal Path and also enjoy live music so are regular gig goers to events ranging from the very trendy and up to date music to good old fashioned jazz and blues. Alison also enjoys spending time in France whenever they can and is trying very hard to learn French.

It is not uncommon for conflict to arise between different teams. This can have considerable impact on both individuals and performance. A number of approaches can be used in this sort of scenario, including neutral assessment, team facilitation and group mediation.
Agreement could not be reached to enter into mediation in this situation and therefore coaching was an alternative support provided to one of the parties. The relationship between a majority shareholder and a shareholder/director was causing conflict. The relationship would be ok at times but disagreements would flare up from time to time and this was beginning to impact on the business.
